The bride-to-be will always remember this special event, may it be a a weekend getaway shopping at the local mall and spa trips or an evening of partying with girlfriends.

Steps:

1. Discuss potential dates with the bride and then with the rest of the wedding party.
2. Try not to involve the bride in anything except choosing the date, venue and invite list.
Tailor the party to fit the personality of the bride-to-be. Estimate costs ahead of time, and factor in food, cover charges, drinks and cab rides.
4. Plan to serve some nonalcoholic beverages for those who don't drink alcohol.
5. Arrange taxis or designated drivers if drinking alcohol is part of the evening's plans.
6. Warn guests ahead of time if you plan on something that might be offensive to some. Allow guests to back out graciously if the party is not their cup of tea.

• As the wedding draws near, people may or may not be excited to partake in yet another affair for the bride-to-be, so make the party fun and appropriate for all who are invited.
• Bachelorette parties do not necessarily need to revolve around male strippers and alcohol. Be imaginative and try not to embarass anyone.
• Have each of the women invited prepare a short tribute before the party -- just a few sentences on what they love about the bride-to-be. Ask them to write it down and bring it with them to the party. At some point (usually later in the evening) have each one read her tribute to the bride-to-be. This is a wonderful surprise, and usually causes lots of happy tears. Afterward, collect all the written tributes and create a little book to give to the bride-to-be so she can remember all those nice things her friends said!
